Protect America: Oppose the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Pandemic Treaty or Say Goodbye to American Sovereignty

Dear Fellow Americans,

As citizens deeply concerned about the future of our nation, we must rally against the World Health Organization's proposed pandemic treaty scheduled for May 2024. While international collaboration helps combat global health threats, this treaty poses significant risks to America's sovereignty and ability to respond effectively to crises.

This treaty would empower the WHO in significant ways that must not be ignored by the American people. It will require funding from the US and in the name of a pandemic, control US manufacturers, combat misinformation on a global scale, and implement “time-bound waivers of intellectual property rights.” The politicization and shortcomings of the WHO throughout the COVID-19 pandemic should without a doubt prove that this institution should not be rewarded and trusted in such a manner.

Here is why we must act:

1. Threat to Sovereignty: The WHO treaty could compromise our nation's ability to make independent decisions regarding public health policies and emergency responses. We must maintain control over our own healthcare decisions to best serve the needs of our citizens.

2. Lack of Accountability: The proposed treaty fails to adequately address issues of transparency and accountability within the WHO itself. Without proper oversight mechanisms, there's a risk of mismanagement and misuse of resources, potentially exacerbating rather than alleviating future pandemics.

3. Potential Economic Impact: Surrendering control to international bodies could have detrimental effects on our economy, including increased regulatory burdens, shortages, and diminished competitiveness in the global market. We cannot afford to jeopardize our economic stability in the name of international cooperation.

4. Protection of Civil Liberties: Upholding our constitutional rights and liberties is paramount. Any treaty that encroaches upon these freedoms must be vehemently opposed to preserve the principles upon which our nation was founded.

The proposed draft of the WHO pandemic agreement remains deeply problematic, deviating from the primary objective of addressing the vulnerabilities exposed by COVID-19 within the international health system. Rather than prioritizing swift prevention, detection, and timely alerting of potential pandemics to the global community, the draft primarily emphasizes mandates for resource transfers, erosion of intellectual property rights, compulsory technology sharing, promotion of manufacturing and production redistribution, and amplification of the WHO's authority.

Under the assumption that President Biden signs the WHO pandemic treaty this May, it should be submitted to the Senate for consideration and a floor vote. The treaty would require a two-thirds majority vote from Senate members to become international law.

Following the Biden Administration's inadequate response to COVID-19 and the WHO's mishandling of the pandemic, Americans must take action to prevent further violations of personal liberties and freedoms. Tell your Senator to vote NO on the WHO pandemic treaty.
