S. 292/H.R. 817 - The Educational Choice for Children Act empowers parents with greater educational choice by offering a non-refundable 100 percent tax credit to incentivize individual and corporate donations to nonprofit scholarships. The bill safeguards religious liberty and private school autonomy by preventing government interference.

The ECCA will make a significant and positive impact on the education of children by giving more parents the freedom to choose the best educational options for their children. The provision of a non-refundable, 100-percent tax credit to encourage donations to nonprofit scholarship granting organizations (SGOs) is a needed approach to expanding access to quality education. By enabling parents to select the most suitable educational services, ECCA truly puts the power of choice back in the hands of families.

This program will benefit students from both low-income and middle-income households in every state and across various educational settings, including homeschooling. It is especially important in states such as Minnesota that do not yet have robust private school choice programs.
