Gun Owners of America tells me that you PROMISED me and the American people that you would NOT support New York Senator Chuck Schumer’s efforts to end the filibuster. Here’s what you told Fox News in November: “I commit to you tonight, and I commit to all of your viewers and everyone else that’s watching, I want to allay those fears, I want to rest those fears for you right now. Because when they talk about, whether it be packing the courts or ending the filibuster, I will not vote to do that. I will not vote to pack the courts … and I will not vote to end the filibuster. … I will not be the 50th Democrat voting to end that filibuster or to basically stack the court, and in all the other things you’re hearing about.” I urge you stand by this promise. Please tell me what you plan to do.

You have promised that you would not vote to modify or eliminate the legislature filibuster.  It appears we have reached the point where your loyalty to that promise will determine the future of the country. You told a nationwide audience in November that “I will not be the 50th Democrat voting to end that filibuster or to basically stack the court.” I want to hear from you that you will resist every attempt by Senator Schumer to get your support on ending the filibuster. If you support a suspension of the filibuster to get some piece of legislation that you want, then you will help create a very dangerous precedent. It will ultimately allow passage of anti-gun legislation, the Green New Deal -- and the decimation of our state. Therefore, as one of your constituents, I am asking you to reaffirm that promise to me -- and to assure West Virginia that you would not support a precedent which will ultimately devastate our state.

It can be argued that YOU helped bring about total Democrat control of the U.S. Congress because of promises that you made to the American people in November. You promised that you would NOT support the ending of the Senate filibuster or the packing of the courts. And based on that assurance to the American people, two anti-gun Democrats from Georgia have joined the Senate. Here’s what one major media outlet said about your promise this past November: “So what Manchin was doing was reassuring everyone that if Democrats won those runoffs and seized control of the Senate … he would be the bulwark against the insanity of packing the Supreme Court and killing the filibuster.” Yes, you are the bulwark against the insanity of packing SCOTUS and ending the filibuster. Please stand by the promise you made in November when you stated that, “when they talk about, whether it be packing the courts or ending the filibuster, I will not vote to do that.” Gun Owners of America will let me know what you do.
