I want you to oppose H.R. 127, H.R. 8, H.R. 1446, H.R. 1808, and S. 736. These bills would enact multiple extreme restrictions on gun ownership that directly violate the Second Amendment and that also compromise our privacy. For example, H.R. 8 and H.R. 1446 create draconian restrictions via background checks and prohibitions on private gun transfers. H.R. 1808, and S. 736 ban over 200 types of so-called "assault weapons." H.R. 127 includes the following provisions: -- A national firearm registry that anyone -- including every level of law enforcement and the military -- can access. -- A requirement to tell the government exactly where one's firearms are stored. -- A license simply to own a gun. -- Mandatory "psychological evaluations" to receive this license. -- Pay $800 for "firearm insurance" -- only the wealthy can afford that. -- Extreme ammo restrictions -- nothing more than 10 rounds or over 0.50 caliber These provisions are extreme, violating our Second Amendment right to self-defense and our privacy. Oppose H.R. 127, H.R. 8, H.R. 1446, H.R. 1808, and S. 736, along with any other legislation that restricts our right to self-defense.

I am writing asking you to reject any and every firearm restriction, including H.R. 8, H.R. 1446, H.R. 1808 / S. 736, and H.R. 127, along with any other bill that would implement the same, or similar, provisions. The Second and Fourth Amendments are foundational to our freedoms. The ability to defend ourselves and to live life without the government intruding upon us are essential for a free society. These bills decimate those freedoms. They are dangerous and must be opposed. Furthermore, I urge you to oppose any other bill that includes the same or similar policies as H.R. 8, H.R. 1446, H.R. 1808 / S. 736, and H.R. 127.

I am a constituent. Please ensure that H.R. 8, H.R. 127, H.R. 1808/S. 736, and H.R. 1446 do not pass. Vote against them, should they come to a vote. These bills all contain a number of worrisome provisions. For one, these provisions would strip us of our privacy. Additionally, they violate the U.S. Constitution's Second Amendment. Please respect our Second and Fourth Amendments, and please ensure H.R. 8, H.R. 127, H.R. 1808/S. 736, and H.R. 1446 -- or any of their provisions -- don't become law.

As a constituent, I demand that you ensure that the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution is not nullified. One of the defining features of a free country is a citizenry that can defend themselves. In such a country, they do not live at the total mercy of their government, or of thugs and criminals. Without this right, forces that oppose freedom -- whether it be the government or criminal organizations -- can terrorize the populace without any worries on their part. It's important that we protect this right in our country. If passed, H.R. 127, H.R. 8, H.R. 1446, H.R. 1808, and S. 736 (along other bills) would effectively end our Second Amendment protections. Stop these bills. They threaten our self-defense rights and our privacy.
