I am reaching out to ask that you support HB278. Most medical professionals understand that medicine is not a one size fits all approach. There is no single medicine that doesn’t affect each individual person differently. The Covid 19 pandemic has given us all pause. We want to see an end to the suffering and death caused by this virus. Immunizations give us the hope that we can get this virus under control and begin to rebuild our lives. While I believe that those who choose to be vaccinated should have the ability to do so I also believe that those who choose not to be vaccinated also be given that choice without fear of retaliation or punishment from employers or long-term care facilities. Our country was founded on freedom and personal autonomy. I hope that you will support HB278 and allow the citizens of Alabama the ability to make their own choices regarding their personal medical health.

I am asking that you support HB278. Mandating a medical procedure for the citizens of Alabama could greatly affect the ability of businesses to stay open and provide the best working environment for their employees. I believe in our constitution and the freedom of our country. People should be given the option to accept or decline something that might not align with their religious, personal, or health beliefs. HB278 will be heard very soon in the Health Committee and I am writing to ask for your support of this important bill. We are living in a very difficult time right now and we all want safety for ourselves and our families. The majority of Americans believe that through immunizations especially for Covid 19 we can safely get back to our lives. There are however a small percentage of people who have medical and genetic conditions where vaccination is not in their best health interest. Support of this bill would allow peace of mind for a small demographic of Alabamians. They would not need to live with the fear of losing their jobs for not being able to partake in a mandatory vaccination.
