VOTE NO on these gun control bills
As your constituent, I strongly urge you to VOTE NO on H.R. 8 and H.R. 1446.
These two gun control bills would destroy the Second Amendment as we know it.
H.R. 8 would require background checks on every single “transfer” of a firearm -- even ones taking place in our own private homes.
Millions of gun owners innocently handing their firearm to a friend or extended family member even for a SECOND would be deemed criminals and thrown in prison.
Moreover, all listed exceptions in the bill would do absolutely no good to gun owners.
H.R. 1446 would allow for VERY LENGTHY delays of gun sales.
2020 was a perilous year for our country. Many Americans, fearing for their lives as crime skyrocketed, chose to arm themselves for the very first time.
To allow for very lengthy delays of firearms sales would be a grave injustice to Americans seeking to defend themselves in an emergency and, of course, a clear violation of the Second Amendment, which plainly states that our right to keep and bear arms “shall not be infringed.”
Records show that over 39 MILLION guns were purchased last year.
But keep in mind those 39 million guns were purchased by voters…
Voters like me will feel betrayed if you allow these gun control bills to become the law of the land.
You took an oath to uphold the Constitution, and that absolutely includes the Second Amendment, which serves as the teeth of our Bill of Rights.
I urge you to strike down both H.R. 8 and H.R. 1446 as soon as they hit the House floor any day now.
