Keep your promise – Don't end the filibuster
White House press secretary Jen Psaki told MSNBC that you are willing to use the “simple majority reconciliation process in the future to pass legislation.” (Source: Breitbart, “Manchin Open to Using Reconciliation More,” March 7, 2021.)
Is it true that you would be willing to scrap the 60-vote threshold in order to deal with legislative issues like gun control?
I STRONGLY oppose the anti-gun bills that recently passed the House (H.R. 8 and H.R. 1446).
Please do not support the “reconciliation process” as a method of bypassing the legislative filibuster.
Gun Owners of America will keep me informed as to what you do.
Thank you.
West Virginia needs you to protect the filibuster

The filibuster needs to be protected
Fox News (3/7/21) quoted you as saying that while you still support the filibuster, “it should be painful” to use.
That quote sure sounds like you are saying that it should be more difficult for the Minority Party to use the filibuster. But let me ask you a question: Did you ever say this when YOU were in the Minority?
I agree with Gun Owners of America that your statement above is uncalled for. If you are open to limiting the filibuster, then it will open the floodgates and allow horrible legislation, like the gun registry in H.R. 8, to become law.
Not only that, everything else will come in through the same gap in the wall: D.C. Statehood, court packing, the carbon tax, an end to fossil fuels, and so forth.
Please do NOT support any limitation of the important 60-vote threshold. It’s the only thing that will both save our state and the Republic.
Thank you.
Don’t let the Establishment end our gun rights – protect the filibuster

Protect Gun Rights – Protect Our Courts – Protect the Filibuster

Don’t back down on the filibuster
Gun Owners of America tells me that your commitment to preserving the filibuster, AS IT CURRENTLY STANDS, is wavering.
But let me remind you that PROMISED me and the American people that you would NOT support New York Senator Chuck Schumer’s efforts to end the filibuster. Here’s what you told Fox News in November:
“I commit to you tonight, and I commit to all of your viewers and everyone else that’s watching, I want to allay those fears, I want to rest those fears for you right now. Because when they talk about, whether it be packing the courts or ending the filibuster, I will not vote to do that. I will not vote to pack the courts … and I will not vote to end the filibuster. … I will not be the 50th Democrat voting to end that filibuster or to basically stack the court, and in all the other things you’re hearing about.”
I will hold you to that promise.
And by the way, I consider your promise to “not end the filibuster” to mean that you would oppose ANY effort to change or limit it in any way.
If you want to make changes to the filibuster, would you be willing to wait and implement those changes when the Democrats are in the Minority again? If not, then don’t be hypocritical and tamper with the filibuster when you’re in the Majority.
The citizens of West Virginia and America are counting on you
