Senator Manchin, I’m writing to you today to salute your strength in rejecting HR 1. It is an obvious attempt to destroy fair elections in the United States. We desperately need legislators who will remain firmly opposed to this bill and others like it—bills that disproportionately favor the Democrat party and violate the foundation on which our country was built. Election security is more important now than ever before. Recent elections have proven the need for strict guidelines, yet Nancy Pelosi and her colleagues continue to attack basic safety practices. Even voter ID requirements are being thrown out the window. These are common-sense measures that everyone should agree on, yet Democrats want to abolish them. No party should be able to interfere with states’ rights to ensure safe elections, especially when interfering gives that party an advantage. There’s no denying that Democrats would benefit greatly from the initiatives in HR 1, especially when they give non-citizens the right to vote.
