Please support legalization and regulation of cannabis for adults
As your constituent, I am writing to urge you to work on ending cannabis prohibition in Delaware this session.
Please support legislation to legalize personal possession of cannabis, allow for expungement of past cannabis possession offenses, and promote equity and inclusion in the legal industry from communities disproportionately impacted by cannabis prohibition.
Our neighbor, New Jersey, has officially enacted their legalization law. It’s time for Delaware to follow suit.

Make 2022 the year Delaware legalizes cannabis for adults
As your constituent, I urge you to support legalizing and regulating cannabis for adults.
By legalizing cannabis and establishing a regulated market for adults 21 and older, Delaware can further reduce the number of cannabis-related arrests being made, create a new source of revenue and good jobs for the state, and boost public health and public safety.
New Jersey has officially enacted its legalization law, and New York, Virginia, New Mexico, and Connecticut also recently passed legalization laws. Delaware must meet the moment and follow suit.
Will you support legalization this session?

On Election Day 2020, all four states with cannabis legalization on their ballots approved the measures handily, from blue New Jersey, to purple Arizona, to red Montana and South Dakota. In addition, New York, Virginia, New Mexico, and Connecticut all recently passed legalization bills via their state legislatures. It is past time Delaware follows suit.
The longer the General Assembly waits to move forward with legalization, Delawareans will continue to face the harms of prohibition, including police interactions, arrests, and a dangerous illicit market. The state will also miss out on a much-needed new source of jobs and revenue.
Cannabis prohibition is a waste of taxpayer resources. It’s time to take a more sensible approach — legalizing, taxing, and regulating cannabis for adults 21 and older.
Please work to end cannabis prohibition this year, and support legislation to legalize and regulate cannabis for adults.
