With the radical left proposing dozens of crazy gun control bills in Congress, some are suggesting that waiting periods are an area where Republicans and Democrats can work together. In the wake of the Georgia shootings, gun grabbers are screaming for waiting periods louder than ever. As a constituent, I wanted to make sure you knew that I am 100% opposed to anything that infringes on my right to keep and bear arms, which includes waiting periods! Gun control is a failed notion that has been shown time and again to be useless at stopping committed criminals. Background checks haven’t stopped criminals. ‘Gun Free Zones’ haven’t stopped criminals. Raising the age limit on when gun owners can buy a gun hasn’t stopped criminals. Neither will this bill, which requires a waiting period before I can buy a gun. That’s because these laws are only obeyed by law abiding citizens in the first place! But everyone in Congress already knows this. Gun control isn’t about stopping crime, it’s about disarming the American people. As my elected official in Washington, I can’t possibly overstress how important it is that you oppose H.R. 1752, H.R. 125 or any other legislation that leaves innocent people vulnerable to criminals who will ignore this law anyway. The Idaho Second Amendment Alliance has assured me that they will keep me in the loop on who supports, and who opposes, these bills.

Congressional Democrats are trying to enact mandatory waiting periods before innocent Americans can buy a gun through legislation like H.R. 1752, H.R. 125, and more. This legislation won’t stop a single violent criminal! On the contrary, passing these bills would get more innocent people (especially women) robbed, raped, or murdered, since law abiding gun owners would have to wait for government permission to carry a gun! Of course, the radical left knows all of this, they just don’t care. Congressional Democrats are the ones trying to defund the police, which only causes crime to skyrocket. And Congressional Democrats are the ones who encouraged ANTIFA and BLM thugs as they burned, rioted, and looted their way across the country last year. So as my Republican voice in Congress, I expect you to fight back against the gun control agenda (especially H.R. 1752) as aggressively as you can. To be clear, I don’t want to see ‘compromise’ in D.C. I don’t want ‘all sides to come together.’ We are in a fight for the future of our nation, so I hope you’ll draw a line in the sand and oppose every bit of the gun control agenda!
