Enact Constitutional Carry – SB 765
As one of your constituents and a supporter of Gun Owners of America (GOA), I urge you to sign SB 765.
Under Senate Bill 765, a Tennessean will be able to conceal carry without having to beg the government for a permit, as long as they are legally in possession of the firearm, and would qualify for an Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit.
GOA recognizes this is not a perfect Constitutional Carry bill. However, it is a step in the right direction and better than what the law is today.
Eighteen other states currently recognize that Americans have the right to carry a gun for self-defense without first getting the government's permission to exercise their constitutional rights. These states, not coincidentally, are among the safest in the country.
It's well past time that Tennessee worked towards joining these states and repealed the unreasonable and unconstitutional limits on Tennesseans’ exercise of their Second Amendment rights.
Please enact SB 765, and support future, expanded Constitutional Carry bills that restore the rights of citizens.
