At his confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, he candidly offered his support for banning so-called “assault weapons.” However; in that same exchange, he could not even begin to define the term or explain what it was he had committed to banning. His readiness to commit to things he doesn’t understand is appalling to the millions of lawful citizens who use AR-15’s as the simple tools they are.
