I am extremely disappointed in your anti-gun stance when you vetoed SB 298. I agree with Gun Owners of America that making Arkansas a Second Amendment Sanctuary State is extremely important, especially at a time when the Biden administration is threatening gun control that would restrict your constituents’ rights to self-defense! You claim that you vetoed this bill because it would negatively affect police, but unless you wanted the police to enforce unconstitutional gun laws that go against their oath, you were very wrong. This bill would help pro-gun police by no longer allowing them to assist in federal tyranny. Nevertheless, I urge you to sign the weakened Second Amendment sanctuary bill, HB 1957, and add Arkansas to the list of 10 other states that had the guts to protect Americans’ rights to bear arms. Please make Arkansas a sanctuary for those who love and respect the rights protected by our Constitution and Second Amendment.
