CALL THE VOTE on Constitutional Carry (HB227)!
Five states THIS YEAR have already passed it.
TWENTY-ONE states already have it.
We have a supermajority the House,
We have a supermajority in the Senate,
And we have the Governor’s office.
Even more, our Governor is running for reelection, and he is desperate for Conservative credentials.
So, there is absolutely no excuse for why HB227, Constitutional Carry, cannot become law in our state.
I am aware that, as Chairman of the Government Oversight committee, you have the ability to schedule committee meetings whenever you want.
I am also informed that you have the ability to call for a vote on Constitutional Carry at any time during committee hearings.
And before you tell me that you ‘support the Second Amendment’ and generally ‘support Constitutional Carry’ in theory, just know that nothing less than a roll call vote on Constitutional Carry in committee and on the floor of the Ohio House will be acceptable to me or tens of thousands of others across Ohio!
Therefore, as a voter in Ohio and a gun rights supporter, I demand that you CALL THE VOTE on Constitutional Carry to pass out of your committee and make every effort to bring up the bill for a vote on the House floor as soon as possible!
Ohio Gun Owners is watching you every step of the way and will keep me updated on the status of this bill as well as your actions or inaction for my freedoms.
Gun rights in Ohio
While Texas and Missouri were delivering HUGE wins for gun owners, you and your caucus were enjoying your vacations and sitting on your duffs.
Now that session is resuming and legislative work is happening, I expect you to take HB227, Constitutional Carry out of the bottom drawer of your desk, dust it off, and CALL THE VOTE on Constitutional Carry!
Gun owners in Ohio like me have waited long enough.
Constitutional Carry has been introduced in the General Assembly for over 20 years, and the lines have been drawn for a very long time.
Stop trying to appease the radical left.
Stop trying to appease the police unions.
You will never be able to get them to sign off on HB227, and you will never get them to support the gun rights of average Ohioans like me.
People like me elected you to office and empowered you with the majority that secured your Chairmanship, now I am asking you to do the right thing by taking public action for Constitutional Carry in Ohio!
Because if you don’t deliver, gun owners will never forget you and your caucus’ failure – especially at primary election time.
