Beginning back in the ‘2020 Summer of Rage’ which was funded by Georgie Soros and the radical left and continuing through today through a combination of the Democratic party’s war on police and the reduction/elimination of cash bail, violent crime is out of control in this country! That’s why I want you to co-sponsor H.R. 6248, Congressman Matt Gaetz’s National Stand-Your-Ground Act that would codify my right to defend myself against a violent predator without having to retreat first. H.R. 6248 clarifies that this Act only applies to people who are lawfully present and not engaged in criminal activity. As a result, this legislation can never be used to protect criminals. But in a day and age when law abiding gun owners are routinely prosecuted for the ‘crime’ of defending themselves, this legislation would provide important criminal protections. 37 states have some form of this legislation already on the books and it’s high time that our federal laws provide these protections as well. Congressman Gaetz is leading this fight for gun owners and as a voter in your district, I would like to see your name added to this bill as a co-sponsor right away! After defending himself against multiple armed attackers, Kyle Rittenhouse found himself indicted on multiple felony charges. After holding a violent mob of over 400 people at bay for hours, Mark and Patricia McCloskey found themselves indicted for multiple felony charges. While Kyle Rittenhouse and Mark and Patricia McCloskey eventually survived their legal ordeals, it is obvious that many prosecutors these days are interested in pursuing political agendas and not justice! And while many states have adopted Stand-Your-Ground at the local level, it’s clear that America needs a national Stand-Your-Ground law more than ever! That’s why Congressman Matt Gaetz has just filed H.R. 6248, a national Stand-Your-Ground Act that would forever remove my requirement to retreat before I can defend myself or loved ones from a violent criminal! We shouldn’t need legislation like this on the books! I shouldn’t have to worry about a prosecutor who is more interested in pursuing a personal/partisan agenda than he is about pursuing justice. But the Rittenhouse/McCloskey cases make it obvious to me that we need the protections now more than ever that this legislation would provide. No, H.R. 6248 would not benefit criminals as it only applies to people who are lawfully present and not engaged in criminal activity. And no, passing H.R. 6248 would not lead to vigilante justice or shootouts on Main Street as that has never happened in the 37 states that have already passed this legislation at the state level. Passing H.R. 6248 would simply remind prosecutors that their job is to go after criminals, not law-abiding gun owners who are forced to defend themselves in a life and death situation. With Biden’s handlers determined to crush my Second Amendment freedoms any way they can before the 2022 midterms, many Republican law makers in Congress want to remain on defense. After all, it’s relatively easy and doesn’t require any real work. But by remaining on defense, and never going on offense, we are surrendering the political ‘high ground’ to the radical Left. Today’s Democratic party seems to be on a one-way freight train to absolute irrelevancy. First, your party gave the Taliban $85 BILLION dollars worth of military hardware (while abandoning American citizens on the ground). Next, you have destroyed our national economy with out-of-control inflation and left us with bare shelves in the supermarkets. And because you have our federal law enforcement agencies so focused on intimidating our parents at school board meetings, you’ve allowed actual terrorists to fly into our country and hold our people hostage in Texas synagogues. Underlining all of this, is an absolute hatred for law abiding gun owners. Nothing else can explain the year long attack that gun owners sustained throughout 2021. And nothing else could explain Vice President Harris’s attempts to raise bail money for violent rioters who burned, shot, and looted their way across America during the summer of 2020. The 2022 midterms are right around the corner, and you have a decision to make. Are you going to follow the leftist ideology of your party, even if it costs your party the control of Congress, or will you stand up for law abiding gun-owners by co-sponsoring H.R. 6248? This legislation, the National Stand-Your-Ground Act, provides critical protections for gun owners by removing the requirement that we retreat before we can defend ourselves against a violent criminal. I understand many in your party will not support this legislation. But as a voter in your district, I only care what you do with this legislation.
