After spending billions to achieve the goal of keeping more families in their homes, closing the State rent & utility help on 31st, and prohibiting local government from passing stronger eviction protections is not the answer. More and more tenants are being harassed and given evictions notices. Los Angeles County, San Diego, Richmond and San Francisco have all passed stronger COVID-related eviction protections that cannot go into effect because of AB 2179! This is outrageous. Don’t tie the hands of our local elected officials when they are trying to prevent more homelessness!!! - Extend the ERAP program - Allow local jurisdictions to pass the policies they deem necessary to prevent unnecessary evictions and growing homelessness!!!
