Protect Patients and Doctors, Oppose AB2098
Dear Governor
I urge you to veto AB2098.
Studies show that it takes an an average of 17 years for research evidence to reach clinical practice. AB2098 is a danger to the advancement of medicine on a disease that is extremely new.

Sincerely,
Science will always evolve
Dear Governor,
How can we deem a question, thought or idea of a medical professional as “misinformation” when science itself is based on learning about the world, creating a hypothesis and gathering data to prove or disprove the hypothesis to be correct. Science will always evolve as we learn what worked, didn’t work and factors that contributed to the study.
Cures, treatments and risks are all found out by trial and error and by compiling data over time.
We cannot reprimand a medical professional for having an idea that is different from the mainstream narrative. Please veto AB2098.
Sincerely,
Concerns Regarding AB2098
Dear Governor,
I am concerned about AB2098 and the censorship that it will place on doctors who are privy to watching clinical research develop. While we are moving into the endemic stages of COVID-19, there is still much to be discovered about the disease itself. We still have not found effective preventatives and the available treatments we have are considered the first line of defense we’ve used so far. It would be reckless and irresponsible in limiting the discovery of new information by doctors and surgeons by passing a bill such as AB2098 which would classify the sharing of COVID-19 misinformation as unprofessional conduct. I urge you to consider the effect a bill like this could have on the future of medicine and treatments.
Please Veto AB2098.
Sincerely,
Mainstream media is not a valid medical source of information
Dear Governor,
I am concerned that AB2098 is allowing the media to dictate what is considered misinformation. The media simply speaks on topics and articles they are told to. The media does not conduct peer reviewed studies.
The media should not be a reason why AB2098 is a valid bill. We must be open to all viewpoints of medical professionals, not just what the media is reporting. Over time, we have seen the media contradict what used to viewed as “misinformation” as the truth now about COVID-19.
I ask you to veto AB2098.
Thank you for your time.
CDC continues to change their medical advice
I am deeply concerned about AB2098. How can we deem a medical professional's idea, question or thought to be misinformation when the CDC has changed their medical advice regarding COVID-19 over time? What the CDC thought at one point has been proven to be incorrect as more data is collected. If the CDC changes their medical advice, are they considered to be spreading “misinformation”?
Science continues to change as we learn more. We cannot silence or reprimand a doctor for asking a question or having a thought that could potentially save people’s lives.
I urge you to please Veto AB2098.
Sincerely,
Multiple options are available to combat COVID-19
I am requesting you to please veto AB2098. Different opinions, ideas and strategies have helped us find multiple ways to combat COVID-19. As each person reacts differently to the virus and potential cures, a doctor is able to prescribe a solution tailored to a person’s individual needs. Different solutions were created through unique ideas such as: vaccines, monoclonal antibodies, zinc, vitamin D, etc.
Through science and innovation among doctors and scientists, we have found multiple ways to combat COVID-19. If any of those ideas were deemed as “misinformation”, these ideas would not have turned into successful treatments that have saved lives.
We have to continue to dialogue in science and medicine. Please Veto AB2098.
Sincerely,
