Kansans need a medical cannabis program!
I write to you today to ask you to support safe and legal access to medical cannabis for Kansans. A vast majority of Kansans support implementing a tightly regulated medical cannabis program, and this bill will meet the needs of patients in our state.
I ask you to support this legislation and to urge Senate President Ty Masterson to do the right thing and honor the wishes of Kansans. The people have spoken, and they want a medical program. This is a very conservative bill and will not allow the smoking of cannabis but will bring relief to thousands of people who have suffered too long.
Thirty-seven other states have adopted medical cannabis programs, and it is past time for our state to join the vast majority of the country and provide safe and lab-tested access for the people of our state. I urge you to support this program and to pressure Senate leadership to do the same.
Thank you.
Please help suffering Kansans
The people of Kansas are suffering from debilitating conditions that could be alleviated by access to safe, legal medical cannabis. As my elected official, I ask you to support this historic legislation and to urge Senate President Ty Masterson to get this bill across the finish line in the Conference Committee.
Too many of our neighbors have to rely on opioids and other pharmaceuticals, when medical cannabis could bring them relief without the dangers of addiction and overdose.
None of the 37 sates that have medical cannabis programs are trying to get rid of their programs. This is not a back door to legalization; under this bill, patients could not even smoke their medical cannabis. No Republican legislature has ever legalized cannabis, and I do not expect Kansas to be the first. What I do want is for my fellow suffering Kansans is access to safe and lab-tested products that will improve their quality of life.
Can I count on you to support the will of the people? Please do everything in your power to make sure that Kansans get access to safe, legal medical cannabis. Thank you.
