I am writing to ask you to immediately fix the maintenance problems that are endangering the health and safety of your tenants at the Chesapeake Apartments. For years, tenants have complained of toxic black mold, vermin, carbon monoxide leaks, raw sewage and other problems. And yet, you continue to overcharge your tenants for substandard housing. When they have asked for repairs, the work your company has done is merely superficial and cosmetic. That is unacceptable. I am asking you to immediately do the following: - Repair tenants’ units using qualified, licensed contractors - Pay tenants’ relocation costs - Grant tenants the right to return to their units after repairs have been completed No one should have to live in such shoddy conditions. I am asking you to be a responsible landlord and treat your tenants with the respect they deserve.
