Vote NO on AB 2840
Please vote no on AB 2840. The bill will cause great harm to California’s economic recovery by banning the majority of industrial developments in the Inland Empire which will kill jobs, put more stress on our supply chain and increase prices for families.
AB 2840 would cause prices of essentials such as food, clothing, medicines and gas to increase while eliminating middle-class jobs associated with building logistics centers and supply chain hubs.
Communities of color would especially be hurt by AB 2840. Supply chain hubs and logistics projects provide good paying jobs to many families while easing the stress on our supply chain, which has been a primary driver of price increases that have mainly hurt communities of color.
The bill would stop much-needed housing projects that rely on the warehousing as part of planning. AB 2840 worsens emissions and produces more sprawl as warehouses will be forced to move further away from the Ports. Workers will have to travel further for these jobs, creating significant hardships for their families.
Given these reasons, I respectfully ask that you vote NO on AB 2840.
