Put the People First! No More Bloated Military Budgets!
As your constituent, I ask you to vote NO on the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which is expected to exceed an obscene $840 billion dollars. The Pentagon is the world’s largest institutional consumer of oil and emitter of greenhouse gasses warming the earth, yet Congress continues to rubber stamp bloated military budgets that worsen the crisis.
The real threat is not an enemy over there, but global warming. which could soon make life on earth uninhabitable if we don’t redirect our resources to saving –instead of destroying– the planet.
Plan to vote NO on the 2023 military budget and announce your opposition ahead of the vote to mobilize more no votes in the Senate. Reject an interventionist foreign policy fueled by the drive for full-spectrum dominance of the air, land and sea. Otherwise, we brace ourselves for rising sea levels, extreme weather, drought, famine–all of which, according to the World Bank, could result in nearly 150 million climate refugees by 2050.
The 2023 NDAA includes $30 billion for new nuclear weapons to destroy humankind and $6 billion for the Pacific Deterrence Initiative to threaten China with armed ground-based cruise, ballistic, and hypersonic missiles.
Flint, Michigan still doesn’t have clean water. Fourteen million people in the U.S. are food insecure and millions struggle to pay medical bills.
Meanwhile, US military spending surpasses China, India, Russia, Saudi Arabia, France, Germany, the UK, Japan, South Korea and Brazil combined!
Vote NO on the 2023 NDAA. Save our people and our planet!
