H.R. 1808 violates the Second Amendment
As your constituent, I urge you to VOTE NO on banning commonly-owned firearms that are being arbitrarily classified as “assault weapons.”
The hearings in the House have proven to gun owners like me that Congress truly knows NOTHING about guns or the Second Amendment.
What even is an “assault weapon?” Isn’t every weapon an assault weapon?
What’s stopping Congress from using this ban to outlaw other commonly-owned firearms such as handguns, once this latest gun control inevitably fails to stop shootings?
In fact, the recently passed Red Flag gun control law failed to prevent another tragic shooting from happening in the extremely anti-gun state of Illinois that had *already* had Red Flag Gun Confiscation Laws on the books.
It’s time for Congress to actually listen to their constituents, follow the hard evidence that gun control fails to keep citizens safe, and simply abide by the Constitution.
I expect you to vote no on H.R. 1808
