The Housing Department continues to disrespect Chesapeake tenants
I am writing to ask that you urge the city Housing Department to force Pama V Properties to immediately fix the severe maintenance issues at the Chesapeake Apartment complex. Continuing to have faith that Pama will do the right thing has not worked.
The Chesapeake tenants still need the Housing Department to re-examine areas that were missed in the first inspection in June, like the pipes underneath the building, because that is where they believe some of the most severe code violations exist. The number one complaint of tenants is the smell from raw sewage coming into their units. And some tenants may have been exposed to lead poisoning. Tenants continue to get sick.
The tenants have repeatedly asked the Housing Department to do a more thorough inspection and to push Pama to fix these maintenance problems, but they feel their appeals have been ignored and dismissed. Pama has continued to drag their feet as tenants suffer from these horrible conditions. Pama employees have harassed tenants and even chased city workers away from the complex. This behavior is unacceptable. The Chesapeake tenants need you to advocate on their behalf and hold Pama accountable.
Thank you.
