Britain First suspended
Dear Elon Musk & Matt Wallace,
Britain First is a registered political party that contests democratic elections.
Next month, they are launching their campaign for the Local Elections 2023.
This year, they have already contested local and parliamentary elections.
They have a right, as a registered political party, to engage with voters on Twitter.
Therefore, I politely request that you reinstate the following suspended accounts: @BritainFirst and @BritainFirstNew
If Twitter is to be a true free speech platform, then all political parties must have a voice.
Free speech on Twitter
Dear Elon Musk & Matt Wallace,
The ‘Britain First Party’ here in the UK has been suspended on Twitter several times.
Surely political parties that contest democratic elections have a right to be heard?
Surely political parties that contest elections have a right to speak to voters?
I was under the impression that ‘free speech’ was going to be restore to Twitter?
Or is it free speech for some, but not for others?
The ‘Britain First Party’ has two suspended accounts, @BritainFirst and @BritainFirstNew
I ask you, in the name of your recent promises, to unban these accounts.
I await your reply.
Unban political parties
Dear Elon Musk & Matt Wallace,
After all the promises of ‘free speech’, I am shocked to find that legal political parties are still being banned on Twitter.
I am referring to the Britain First Party here in the UK, a party registered with the Electoral Commission and which contests elections at all levels.
We have a possible UK general election on the horizon and next month Britain First are launching their campaign for the local elections next year.
As a political party, I cannot see any reason why they shouldn’t be allowed to connect with voters on Twitter?
With this in mind, please unban the following suspended accounts: @BritainFirst and @BritainFirstNew
I hope and pray that your promises of free speech will be realised.
I await your reply.
I am disappointed
Dear Elon Musk & Matt Wallace,
I woke up this morning and found that the political party that I support has been suspended on Twitter.
Britain First is a legal political party that is registered with the Electoral Commission.
How can you justify suspending their new Twitter account because of a few complaints from far-left extremists?
I was under the impression that Twitter was now a free speech platform?
Why do the parties of the Left enjoy engaging with voters on Twitter, but everyone else is censored?
I must admit I expected more from Elon Musk than this.
I demand that Twitter immediately reinstates the following accounts, so that free speech is restored, @BritainFirst and @BritainFirstNew
It’s time for Mr Musk to fulfil his promises to the freedom-loving peoples of the world.
I await your reply.
Restore Britain First
Dear Elon Musk & Matt Wallace,
In the May local elections I voted for a political party named Britain First.
When I saw they had re-joined Twitter after your take over I was overjoyed and created a new Twitter account to follow their achievements and activities.
Politics in the UK has become an echo chamber of left-wing and green policies that I and millions of other citizens do not support.
I was thrilled to see Britain First getting the platform they deserved.
So, when I logged in this morning, I was so disappointed to see that their account had been suspended, again.
Elon, you have championed yourself as being a free speech absolutist and this saddens me to see you capitulate to outside forces.
Please do the right thing and reinstate Britain First, we as British citizens deserve to be able to hear all political views and approaches (usernames @BritainFirst and @BritainFirstNew).
I will not be using Twitter until it becomes the free speech platform you promised.
I await your reply.
Free speech
Dear Elon Musk & Matt Wallace,
I have been following your Twitter take-over for the last few weeks.
I was thrilled to see a person with your stature taking on the battle of social media censorship.
In the past I have been censored from many a platform for sensible political debate.
Political debate is at the heart of democracy.
I have never been a follower of Britain First but when I saw that they were suspended this morning, I felt an empty feeling of disappointment.
Myself and millions of other free thinkers had put so much hope into your take over and within 48hrs those hopes have been crushed.
We either have democracy or we don’t, you promised a digital town square where we could jump on our soap boxes and champion our causes free of persecution and cancellation.
For the greater good you must stick to your word and deliver on your promises.
We do not need the same Twitter with a different figure head, we need a new Twitter with a leadership that supports and upholds democratic values.
To start with, please restore Britain First: @BritainFirst and @BritainFirstNew
I await your reply.
