You voted for gun control
As your constituent, I was very upset to hear that you voted for the Fiscal Year 2023 NDAA, which included gun control.
Gun Owners of America dug through the details of the bill to find that it includes a “pilot program on safe storage of personally owned firearms.”
While the pilot program is technically “voluntary” for military members, I have no doubt that this is a slippery slope toward mandating that Americans lock up every gun they own—even the ones they rely on for self-defense.
After all, Joe Biden himself has said that his end goal is to “have safe storage laws, requiring personal liability for not locking up your gun.”
The government has absolutely no business dictating how anyone stores their constitutionally protected firearms on their own private property.
In fact, the hero who stopped the Sutherland Springs mass murderer, openly says that he regrets keeping his firearms locked unloaded. He lost 90 precious seconds retrieving his firearms in a life or death crisis.
No doubt, you will tell me that you supported this legislation because of other provisions in the bill. But the Second Amendment isn’t a bargaining chip that can be negotiated with or compromised for other policy items.
I hope you can see why you should regret your vote, and I urge you to never vote for any other gun control measures in the future.
