Restore Sound Money With SP 420, SP 507, and SP 292
I urge you to support SP 420, SP 507, and SP 292, which will bring our state closer to restoring sound money and adhering to the U.S. Constitution's monetary provisions.
The rampant inflation we've been seeing goes back to the unconstitutional Federal Reserve and our abandonment of constitutional money. The U.S. dollar has lost over 97 percent of its purchasing power since 1913, and the Fed's policies are ensuring that it will continue to become increasingly worthless.
SP 420 will allow gold and silver to be treated as money -- as they ought, while SP 507 would recognize them as legal tender. SP 292 would allow the Treasurer of State to invest state funds in gold and silver. These bills also will help reduce the overpowerful Federal Reserve's grip on our economy.
Please support SP 420, SP 507, and SP 292, and fully restore sound money in Maine.
Restore Monetary Sanity With SP 420, SP 507, & SP 292
Please take action to restore sanity in our monetary policy by enacting SP 420, SP 507, & SP 292.
SP 420 would eliminate sales taxes on precious metals, while SP 507 would recognize them as legal tender while also eliminating sales taxes for them. Also, SP 292 would authorize the state treasurer to invest in gold, silver, and other precious metals.
Gold and silver are money, not commodities. It's time that we treat them as such. It makes no sense to levy taxes on money.
Because of the Federal Reserve and its unconstitutional monopoly on money, the U.S. dollar has lost 97% of its value since 1913.
SP 420, SP 507, and SP 292 would reduce our dependence on the Federal Reserve, comply with Article I, Section 10, of the U.S. Constitution, and restore a sound monetary policy. Please enact these bills.
Support SP 420, SP 507, & SP 292 -- Treat Gold and Silver as Money
I implore you to support SP 420, SP 507, and SP 292, which would be great first steps toward enforcing the U.S. Constitution when it comes to monetary policy.
Article I, Section 10 of the U.S. Constitution requires states to make only gold and silver "a Tender in Payment of Debts." Unfortunately, we've long abandoned this important provision. The result is the devaluation of the dollar, which is hurting Minnesota residents -- along with our children's and grandchildren's futures.
SP 420, SP 507, and SP 292 are important steps toward restoring adherence to both the U.S. Constitution and sound money. Please support these bills.
Enact SP 420, SP 507, and SP 292 -- Restore Constitutional Money
Please enact SP 420, SP 507, and SP 292. These bills will help restore constitutional money in Maine.
The U.S. Constitution recognizes only gold and silver as legal tender. Specifically, I refer to Article I, Section 8, Clause 5 and Article I, Section 10, Clause 1. Fiat money is not recognized.
This is for good reason. When we abandoned adherence to the Constitution, inflation skyrocketed. The dollar has lost 97% of its value since 1913, and this is devastating to the younger generations.
SP 420, SP 507, and SP 292 would help rectify this by helping Maine return to constitutional adherence and treating gold and silver as currency. Please support these bills.
Vote YES on SP 420, SP 507, & SP 292 -- Support Sound Money
I urge you to support and vote in favor of SP 420, SP 507, and SP 292. These bills are important for treating gold and silver as money, and reducing Maine's dependence on the federal government.
Currently the Federal Reserve -- a blatantly unconstitutional entity -- has a monopoly over money and monetary policy in the United States. The rampant inflation we're seeing, along with the fact that the dollar has lost 97% of its value since 1913, illustrates the effect it's had on our economy and society.
SP 420, SP 507, and SP 292 are needed to help nullify the Federal Reserve and its detrimental effects.
Also, SP 420, SP 507, and SP 292 are great first steps toward enforcing the Constitution’s monetary provisions. Article I, Section 10, of the U.S. Constitution plainly states that “No State shall…make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts.”
It’s long overdue that states begin to enforce this provision once again.
Please support and vote in favor of SP 420, SP 507, and SP 292.
