Support LD 172
Dear Members of the Health and Human Services Committee,
Please support LD 172 this session. Today, Maine remains one of just a few states that still maintains a COVID-19 vaccination mandate on healthcare workers.
The best and latest data available does not support the assertion that COVID-19 vaccination prevents the transmission of the disease, which was the Mills' administrations stated reason for implementing it. Thus, no legitimate public health rationale exists for the mandate to continue.
Maine has a shortage of healthcare professionals across the state. There is no reason to continue undermining the healthcare of Maine people and the strength of the state's healthcare workforce by keeping this unscientific mandate in place.
Please support LD 172 to remove the mandate and restore Maine's healthcare workforce. Thank you.
End the Mandate
Dear Members of the Health and Human Services Committee,
Please support LD 172 this session. Maine remains one of just a small handful of states that maintains a COVID-19 vaccine mandate on healthcare workers.
The best and data available today does not support the assertion that vaccination prevents the transmission of COVID-19, which was the Mills' administrations stated rationale for implementing it. Therefore, there is no legitimate public health reason for the requirement to persist.
Maine has a shortage of important healthcare professionals across the state. There is no need to continue undermining the healthcare of Maine people and the strength of the state's healthcare workforce by keeping this unscientific rule in place.
Please support LD 172 to remove the mandate and restore Maine's healthcare workforce. The people of Maine deserve it. Thank you.
