Reduce our taxes
Dear members of the Taxation Committee,
Please support LDs 835 and 971 this session and oppose LDs 667 and 843. Phasing out the income tax would relieve pressure on Mainers amid persistent inflation and rising costs of goods and services. Despite state government being flush with cash, no lasting relief is being offered to us. One-time checks are just gimmicks. The time is now to reduce the income tax burden.
Further, bills like LDs 667 and 843 are counterproductive. They would increase the tax burden on Mainers and drive them to leave our state for low-tax destinations like New Hampshire and Florida. Mainers can't afford this level of taxation. Approving either of these measures would be misguided and out of touch with the economic realities Mainers are experiencing.
Please support LDs 835 and 971 and oppose LDs 667 and 843 this session. Thank you.
Relieve the tax burden
Dear members of the Taxation Committee,
Please support LDs 835 and 971 this session and oppose LDs 667 and 843. Phasing out the income tax would relieve pressure on my family amid persistent inflation and the rising costs of goods and services. Despite state government being flush with cash, no lasting relief is being offered by the state. One-time checks are just one-off gimmicks. The time is now to reduce the income tax burden for all Mainers.
Further, bills like LDs 667 and 843 are counterproductive. They would increase the tax burden and drive Mainers to leave our state for low-tax destinations like New Hampshire and Florida. Mainers can't afford this level of taxation. Approving either of these bills would be misguided and out of touch with the economic reality Mainers are experiencing.
Please support LDs 835 and 971 and oppose LDs 667 and 843 this session. Thank you.
