Fight Climate Change and Strengthen Energy Security
Young Americans, including young conservatives, want climate action. Even as energy security tops headlines, only 19% of young Republicans want lower energy prices prioritized above effective climate action.
Taking climate change seriously means employing a dynamic approach that is good for people and good for the planet. We need an all-of-the-above approach to climate solutions, including an energy strategy that puts us on the path to a future with abundant, affordable, and increasingly clean energy. That’s what The Climate Commitment does.
The Lower Energy Costs Act (H.R.1) is an important step forward on this path. Unleashing the power of American energy and modernizing outdated regulations will help both traditional and clean energy. While this legislation is not a silver bullet for our climate challenge, it is an encouraging move from House Republicans.
As a young conservative concerned about climate change, I urge you to continue to prioritize energy and climate in the 118th Congress by championing clean energy, cutting burdensome red tape, competing with Russia and China, and helping nature fight climate change.
