It is important the state encourages as much competition as possible during the bidding process by parceling the land into multiple bids, rather than approving a nomination that encompasses the entire park through an “all-or-nothing” approach. Nomination 23-DNR-0010 does just that, and its approval will guarantee much-needed competition in the bidding process, inevitably delivering the largest economic impact benefiting the state, region, park, landowners, visitors, etc. I urge you to approve nomination 23-DNR-0010 and bring us one step closer to making Ohio energy independent while fostering an economy that works for us.

As energy costs rise, we have a critical and easy decision to make. We can tap into Salt Fork State Park’s natural resources and make Ohio a national leader in becoming energy independent - or - we can continue our reliance on energy from other places. Not only does Nomination 23-DNR-0010 lead to great strides in attaining energy independence, but it just as importantly guarantees a competitive bidding process. This will inevitably result in the largest possible economic impact benefiting the state, region, park, landowners, visitors, sportsmen, etc. This level of impact can only be achieved by approving Nomination 23-DNR-0010 which splits the land into multiple bids, therefore ensuring as much competition in the bidding process as possible. Less of an economic impact will be realized if an alternative nomination is approved that would instead encompass the entire park into one bid. It is time that we focus on using what we have right here in Ohio. I urge you to approve nomination 23-DNR-0010.
