As an American citizen who loves justice, I implore you to reconsider whether to proceed with your charges against former President Trump. It should be clear to you, as it is clear to every fair-minded American, that President Trump did nothing wrong by questioning the 2020 election in Georgia. We have a First Amendment that protects a citizen’s right to speak out against a process he thinks was unfair. By questioning the integrity of the election and trying to investigate allegations of fraud, President Trump was upholding one of the pillars of our democracy – free and fair elections. There was no “conspiracy” to overturn the election, as you claim. There was simply a president and his lawyers trying to make sure the election had in fact been conducted legally. As a public official, you should share their conviction that elections must always be conducted with integrity. Therefore, I humbly ask you to drop your charges against President Trump and his associates.

Your prosecution of President Trump is nakedly political. You know it, I know it, and millions of Americans like me know it, too. You seem to be stretching to try and find a “conspiracy” among Trump and his associates. Seriously, you’re indicting him for tweeting about hearings he was watching on TV? And you’re indicting his chief of staff for asking for a phone number? When I see ridiculous charges like those, I know this is not about upholding the law – it’s about weaponizing your position to destroy Trump and those around him by any means possible. You seek to criminalize Trump for questioning the results of an election, which candidates in your party have done on several occasions. In your state of Georgia, for example, Stacey Abrams refused to concede that she lost the 2018 governor’s election, yet she was never indicted or punished in any way. Your indictment of President Trump was the fourth one leveled against him this year. It’s abundantly clear left-wing prosecutors are just throwing everything they can think of at Trump and hoping something sticks. That’s why millions of Americans like me are rallying around Donald Trump. We despise your party’s attempt to prosecute him on phony charges when we know his real “crime” was winning an election and making America great again. Therefore, I demand that you END your politically motivated persecution of President Trump. I will be watching closely to see what action you take on this matter.

You are setting a horrible new precedent by prosecuting and attempting to jail the leading presidential contender of the opposing party on trumped up charges. That has never been the American way; in America, we hold elections to let the people decide who their leaders will be. Imprisoning one’s political opponents is the method favored by corrupt leaders in totalitarian regimes. But now you’ve opened that can of worms here in the U.S. You shouldn’t assume the Republicans will never turn this precedent against you. Joe Biden is far more corrupt than President Trump, and the Republican-led House has good reason to consider impeaching him. I fear America may soon devolve into a tit-for-tat state where leaders, instead of convincing voters to vote for them, merely try to remove their opponents from the political arena by any means necessary. Our republic is teetering on a dangerous precipice because of you and your fellow Democrats. In your effort to take down Trump, you may very well take down the whole country. I implore you to change course and end your partisan prosecution of President Trump. Our nation’s fate hangs in the balance.
