Protect veterans’ 2A rights
The Senate recently passed the Military, Construction, Veteran Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act of 2024 (H.R. 4366.
As your constituent and a member of Gun Owners of America, I’m strongly urging you to keep the pro-gun Kennedy/Bost amendment in the final VA funding bill—whether that’s an omnibus or H.R. 4366 as it comes out of the upcoming conference committee.
This critical language will defund the so-called “Fiduciary Rule” which the Department of Veterans Affairs has used to unconstitutionally disarm more than 250,000 veterans.
Many of those veterans were disarmed simply because they sought financial assistance with their benefits.
These brave men and women put their life on the line to defend our country, only to return home and be stripped of their constitutional rights by ungrateful anti-gun bureaucrats.
It’s abhorrent that they’ve been treated like this.
GOA will score any vote for a final appropriations bill for the Department of Veterans Affairs that does NOT include this bipartisan protection for veterans as an anti-gun vote.
I hope you’ll uphold the oath you took to defend the Constitution and ensure that no more veterans are unconstitutionally disarmed by anti-gun VA bureaucrats.
I’ll be paying close attention to what you do next – and GOA will keep me informed.
