Let the Plastic Gun Ban lapse
As your constituent and a GOA member, I’m relieved that Congress listened to gun owners and removed the permanent reauthorization of the Plastic Gun Ban from the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
Gun control doesn’t belong in the NDAA, and I’m glad that America’s national defense will not be politicized by anti-gun radicals.
Now, I’d like you to take the next step and allow the Plastic Gun Ban to lapse on February 2nd, 2024, when it’s scheduled to expire.
Contrary to the fear-mongering lies spewed by anti-gunners, current technologies like thermal imaging, backscatter X-ray, and millimeter wave will pick up the images of plastic guns.
Consider that according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics—for the years 2000-2016—there have been absolutely ZERO prosecutions under this law.
This outdated ban doesn’t make anyone safer, and it could easily be weaponized by the Biden Administration’s ATF to implement the largest gun ban in American history!
To reiterate: I’m glad Congress removed the permanent Plastic Gun Ban from the NDAA, but I will not consider this matter finished until the ban has officially expired on February 2nd.
I’ll be watching, and GOA will let me know what you do next.
