Restore Sound Money with HB 4342
I urge you to support HB 4342, which will bring our state closer to restoring sound money and adhering to the U.S. Constitution's monetary provisions.
The rampant inflation we've been seeing goes back to the unconstitutional Federal Reserve and our abandonment of constitutional money. The U.S. dollar has lost over 97 percent of its purchasing power since 1913, and the Fed's policies are ensuring that it will continue to become increasingly worthless.
Not only will HB 4342 allow gold and silver to be treated as money -- as they ought -- but it will help reduce our state's financial independence on the federal government, specifically the Federal Reserve. This bill also will help our state avoid the federal government's planned "Central Bank Digital Currencies," which severely threaten privacy and individual freedom.
Please support HB 4342, and fully restore sound money in West Virginia.
Enact HB 4342 -- Restore Constitutional Money
Please enact HB 4342. This bill will help restore constitutional money in West Virginia.
The U.S. Constitution recognizes only gold and silver as legal tender. Specifically, I refer to Article I, Section 8, Clause 5 and Article I, Section 10, Clause 1. Fiat money is not recognized.
This is for good reason. When we abandoned adherence to the Constitution, inflation skyrocketed. The dollar has lost 97% of its value since 1913, and this is devastating to the younger generations.
HB 4342 would help rectify this by helping West Virginia return to constitutional adherence and recognizing gold and silver as legal tender. Please support this bill.
Restore Monetary Sanity With HB 4342
Please take action to restore sanity in our monetary policy by enacting HB 4342.
This bill would:
-- Officially recognize gold and silver coins as legal tender; and
-- Establish nonrefundable tax credits for capital-gain transactions of gold and silver, thus treating it as money.
Because of the Federal Reserve and its unconstitutional monopoly on money, the U.S. dollar has lost 97% of its values since 1913. And now, the Fed is pushing to create Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), which will decimate our privacy.
HB 4342 would reduce our dependence on the Federal Reserve, comply with Article I, Section 10, of the U.S. Constitution, and restore a sound monetary policy. Please enact this bill.
Support HB 4342 -- Enforce the U.S. Constitution
I implore you to support HB 4342, which would be a significant step toward enforcing the U.S. Constitution when it comes to monetary policy.
Article I, Section 10 of the U.S. Constitution requires states to make only gold and silver "a Tender in Payment of Debts." Unfortunately, we've long abandoned this important provision. The result is the devaluation of the dollar, which is hurting West Virginians -- along with our children's and grandchildren's futures.
HB 4342 is an important step to restoring adherence to both the U.S. Constitution and sound money. Please support this important bill.
Vote YES on HB 4342
I urge you to support and vote in favor of HB 4342. This bill is important for reducing West Virginia's dependence on the federal government.
Currently the Federal Reserve -- a blatantly unconstitutional entity -- has a monopoly over money and monetary policy in the United States. The rampant inflation we're seeing, along with the fact that the dollar has lost 97% of its value since 1913, illustrates the effect it's had on our economy and society.
HB 4342 is needed to help nullify the Federal Reserve and its detrimental effects.
Also, HB 4342 is a great first step toward enforcing the Constitution’s monetary provisions. Article I, Section 10, of the U.S. Constitution plainly states that “No State shall…make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts.”
It’s long overdue that states begin to enforce this provision once again.
Please support and vote in favor of HB 4342.
Pass HB 4342 to Nullify the Federal Reserve
I strongly request that you support and enact HB 4342 to enforce the U.S. Constitution and nullify the Federal Reserve's unconstitutional monopoly on money.
The Federal Reserve has absolutely no constitutional basis. However, it has an inordinate amount of power over our country's finances and economy -- and the U.S. dollar has lost 97% of its value since the Fed's creation in 1913.
State officials -- including legislators -- have a duty, under Article VI of the U.S. Constitution, to uphold the Constitution and reject all laws not "made in Pursuance thereof." And passing HB 4342 would be big steps toward upholding the Constitution's provisions regarding money. This bill also would protect us from the federal government's plans for a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), which will even further erode our privacy.
Please enforce the U.S. Constitution by enacting HB 4342.
