As your constituent, I urge you to prioritize the repeal of the Judicial Nominating Commission and support legislation like SJR 34 to send a proposed constitutional amendment to a vote of the people.
Oklahoma needs a judicial selection model similar to the U.S. Constitution’s system of checks and balances. Oklahoma’s state Supreme Court continues to legislate from the bench and throw out conservative reforms.
Oklahomans want a more accountable process for selecting judges, with the governor appointing and the Legislature confirming. Please make this a priority to ensure a more fair judicial system that better reflects Oklahoma values. Please pass SJR 34.
Thank you for your service to Oklahoma.
Eliminate the JNC
Thank you for serving our state.
Today, the Judicial Nominating Commission decides, in effect, who can be an Oklahoma Supreme Court justice. There are few checks and balances on the JNC; it’s unelected and unaccountable.
Adopting a model like the U.S. Constitution’s would help make a more just Oklahoma.
Please make eliminating the JNC a priority, by passing SJR 34 or any similar legislation to send a proposed constitutional amendment to a vote of the people, so we can gain a judicial system that better reflects Oklahoma values.
Thank you for representing me in our State Legislature.
