Oppose HB 483 -- “Gun Violence Task Forces”
This Wednesday, HB 483 will be heard before the House Judiciary Committee for the creation of “Gun Violence Task Forces”
As your constituent and a supporter of Gun Owners of America, I ask that you OPPOSE this bill, and that you will inform House Judiciary Chair, Timothy Briggs of my opposition as well.
Gun violence task forces are cesspools for spawning and popularizing anti-gun propaganda. Moreover, they are ineffective. Philadelphia’s homicide rate has skyrocketed despite the creation of their Gun Violence Task Force in 2006. Why should we trust more of these across the Commonwealth?
Not only that, but these task forces single out gun crime from other violent crimes, further stigmatizing gun ownership. It’s the underlying crime that matters, not the instrument used to perpetrate it.
Again, I respectfully urge you to stand against HB 483 and inform House Judiciary Chair, Timothy Briggs, of my opposition.
