VETO S 209
As a Vermonter and a proud supporter of Gun Owners of America, I urge you to VETO S 209, a bill that would ban so called “ghost guns” in Vermont.
We have had the right to make our own firearms since before the founding of our Republic. S 209 would prevent me from fully expressing my Second Amendment rights by making me seek government permission to manufacture homemade firearms. 3D printing and other forms of homemade manufacturing have long been economical solutions for gun owners looking to repair or maintain their firearms.
This bill will also inadvertently burden those who have legally acquired firearms without serial numbers. Complying with serialization requirements will be a costly and bureaucratic process and will do little to prevent crime in Vermont, all while crippling the spirit of hobbyists and collectors alike.
Again, I urge you to strike down this un-American legislation and VETO S 209.
