Creating a state bullion depository will help reduce our state's financial independence on the federal government, specifically the Federal Reserve. H721 also will help our state avoid the federal government's planned "Central Bank Digital Currencies," which severely threaten privacy and individual freedom. Please support H721, and fully restore sound money in North Carolina.

Article I, Section 10, of the U.S. Constitution plainly states that “No State shall…make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts.” It’s long overdue that states begin to enforce this provision once again. This bill also would lead to protecting us from the federal government's plans for a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), which will even further erode our privacy. Specifically, I refer to Article I, Section 8, Clause 5 and Article I, Section 10, Clause 1. Fiat money is not recognized. This is for good reason. When we abandoned adherence to the Constitution, inflation skyrocketed. The dollar has lost 97% of its value since 1913, and this is devastating to the younger generations.
