Work together NOW on the Special Session
Crime is destroying our communities and way of life. PLEASE roll up your sleeves and get to work on making the July Special Session a success for reducing crime by repeat offenders. We need your help and this is a good opportunity to make big progress on the situation.
Thank you for your service to our state.
STOP repeat offenders now
Thank you for consideration to my comments.
Increased crime is putting New Mexico families at risk. You were elected to help care for our communities. Please act in our best interests now by working together with other legislators to make the Special Session a success.
Help NM’s crime problem in July Special Session
We are watching our communities be destroyed by drugs and crime. It is time for the NM Legislature to step forward and lead the way by taking advantage of the special session to pass meaningful crime Bills.
Please work together to address criminal competency in the Special Session. Thank you for considering my comments.
Over a hundred crimes and still on the streets
Our criminal justice system is failing those with mental health problems and/or drug addiction. Many repeat offenders are deemed “incompetent” to stand trial so they are just released back onto the streets, where they commit crime after crime after crime. For instance, one of the top repeat offenders in Las Cruces has over 120+ charges for aggravated assault, drug dealing (meth), battery, trespassing, shoplifting, and more.
The July 18 Legislature Special Session is a unique opportunity for the NM Legislature to prioritize Bills that will help. Please work together now, for the good of our community
VIOLENT offenders being released to commit more crimes
Repeat offenders are destroying our community! For instance, from a public records request, one of the top repeat offenders in Las Cruces has been charged 95+ times, with offenses including criminal trespass, possession of illegal drugs, assault, property damage, indecent exposure, shoplifting, battery on a peace officer, and unlawful carrying of a deadly weapon.
Families and businesses in New Mexico are paying the price. Businesses and homes are being vandalized, windows are being broken, and property is being taken. As just one example, a NM yoga teacher was attacked at work with rocks thrown at her car and threatened with being raped and killed.
The New Mexico legislature must enact laws to allow “incompetent” offenders to be directed into treatment, for the good of all. Please work together now.
Thank you for consideration of my comments.
Catch and Release is Harming the Criminals, too
Not only is catch-and-release harming our communities, it is also harming the criminals themselves. If you look at the numerous mugshots of the top repeat offenders, you can see that over time, they look increasingly haggard, beaten down, out of their minds.
It is not compassionate to allow these people to continue destroying their own lives and health with drugs. And it is the duty of government to ensure that these people are not allowed to continue destroying our community.
Thank you for your consideration of my comments.
Please protect our family
Repeat offenders are committing crime after crime after crime, only to be released back onto the streets as “incompetent.” The Governor is proposing a competency Bill to ensure that offenders committing repeat violent crimes are not continually released. Please support this legislation for the good of our state.
Please support the special session and work together for the good of our community. Thank you for your service.
