Support The HEALTHY BRAINS Act (H.R. 9233) to advance the science of risks and prevention for FTD and other neurodegenerative diseases.
The HEALTHY BRAINS Act (H.R. 9233) was introduced on August 1st by Representatives Jennifer Wexton (D-VA) and Gus Bilirakis (R-FL). The bill would create Collaborative Centers for Neurodegenerative Disease Environmental Research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The Centers would focus on research on environmental and occupational risk factors for FTD disorders, such as progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), corticobasal degeneration (CBD), as well as ALS, and Parkinson’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases.
Little is known about risk factors for FTD and other neurodegenerative diseases. Passage of the HEALTHY BRAINS Act (H.R. 9233) could lead to important advances in our understanding of the causes of these diseases and how to prevent them. Please support this bill and bring hope to all who are impacted by these devastating diseases.
