Thank you for keeping Dementia a National Priority
Thank you for passing both the NAPA Reauthorization Act (S.133) and the Alzheimer's Accountability and Investment Act (S.134) and renewing your commitment to help all those impacted by dementia - including Frontotemporal degeneration (FTD).
FTD is one of the "related dementias" included in NAPA. It is the most common form of dementia in people under 60 and can be diagnosed at any point from one’s 20s to their 80s. It can impact behavior, decision-making, personality, language, and/or movement, irreversibly changing a person’s ability to relate to loved ones or function at work. Average life expectancy is 7 to 13 years. There are currently no treatments to slow the progress of this disease.
By passing the NAPA Reauthorization Act (S.133/H.R.619) and the Alzheimer’s Accountability and Investment Act (S.134/H.R.62) you are renewing our nation's commitment to helping all impacted by FTD and all the forms of dementia included in NAPA.
Thank you for prioritizing support and resources for those living with Dementia.
Thank you for your support in passing both the NAPA Reauthorization Act (S.133) and the Alzheimer's Accountability and Investment Act (S.134). Your dedication to aiding those affected by dementia, including Frontotemporal degeneration (FTD), is greatly appreciated.
FTD is a type of dementia that falls under the umbrella of related dementias in NAPA. It is the most prevalent form of dementia in individuals under the age of 60 and can manifest in various ways affecting behavior, decision-making, personality, language, and movement. This disease can significantly alter a person's ability to interact with loved ones and perform effectively at work. Unfortunately, there are currently no treatments available to slow down the progression of FTD, and the average life expectancy post-diagnosis ranges from 7 to 13 years.
Your efforts in passing these critical acts demonstrate our country's continued commitment to assisting individuals impacted by FTD and other dementia types included in NAPA. Thank you for recognizing the importance of supporting those affected by these devastating conditions.
