Please Support the Resentencing of Erik and Lyle Menendez
Dear District Attorney Hochman,
I am writing to urge you to support the resentencing of Erik and Lyle Menendez. Over 35 years ago, Erik and Lyle were sentenced to life without parole for the tragic deaths of their parents. However, crucial evidence of the severe sexual, emotional, and physical abuse they endured was deliberately excluded from their second trial, preventing the jury from fully understanding their trauma and its impact.
Erik and Lyle have shown profound rehabilitation over the past three decades. They are not a danger to society and have dedicated their lives to mentoring others in prison. Their continued incarceration serves no purpose.
Justice demands a fair and impartial review. I urge you to:
- Support the resentencing of Erik and Lyle Menendez.
- Consider the new evidence of abuse and evolving understanding of trauma.
- Prioritize the voices of the victims' family members who overwhelmingly support resentencing.
- Remove politics from this decision and pursue fairness and compassion.
Please do what is right. The world is watching.
