Why did you turn your back on 18-20 year-olds?
As a proud Pennsylvanian and supporter of Gun Owners of America (GOA), I am absolutely SHOCKED about your petition for an "en banc" review in the Lara v. Paris case.
This case was a clear victory for young adults who were prohibited from carrying firearms in a state of emergency. But because of your actions, the entire 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals could overturn the case, returning 18-20 year olds to second-class citizen status.
GOA tells me that you opposed these kinds of laws on your candidate survey, but now your actions say otherwise.
Moreover, I would think your own experience as a young man in the United States Navy would cause you to protect the rights of under-21 service members to possess firearms.
I am very disappointed with the petition for "en banc" review. I expected you to start reversing the anti-gun decisions of AG Shapiro by re-establishing concealed carry reciprocity agreements and upholding our state's firearms preemption laws as our new "top cop." But instead, your first real decision was genuinely anti-gun.
As a supporter of GOA and a citizen of the Commonwealth, I hope that you will uphold your promises instead of betraying them and WITHDRAW the petition for "en banc" review in the Lara case.
Are 18-20-year-olds second-class citizens in your opinion?
As a proud constituent and supporter of Gun Owners of America, I am deeply concerned about the recent petition for an "en banc" review in the Lara v. Paris case. This petition could potentially undermine the rights of young adults to carry firearms during a state of emergency, reversing a critical victory in the fight for gun rights.
It is perplexing that this action contradicts the opposition to such laws expressed in your candidate survey. The potential consequences of this review could relegate 18-20 year olds to a second-class citizen status, a troubling outcome for those young adults who should have the right to protect themselves.
Considering your background as a former serviceman in the United States Navy, one would expect a stronger stance in support of under-21 service members' rights to possess firearms. It is disheartening to see a decision that may jeopardize these rights.
I urge you to prioritize upholding the promises made to constituents and standing firm on your commitment to protect our gun rights. As a Pennsylvanian, I hope to see a reversal of this petition for "en banc" review and a steadfast defense of our Second Amendment freedoms.
I feel betrayed by the petition for "en banc" review in Lara!
As a proud resident of Pennsylvania and a steadfast advocate for gun rights and Gun Owners of America, I am disappointed and concerned about the recent petition for an "en banc" review in the Lara v. Paris case. The original ruling in this case was a crucial win for young adults' gun rights during states of emergency, but the petition for review jeopardizes this progress and could once again relegate 18-20 year olds to second-class citizens in terms of firearm possession.
It is disheartening to see actions that contradict your previously stated positions on protecting gun rights, especially considering the potential impact on young service members who risk their lives to defend our country. The decision to seek an "en banc" review raises doubts about upholding commitments to safeguarding our constitutional rights, especially in contrast to promises made regarding concealed carry reciprocity and firearms preemption laws.
As a supporter of gun rights and a citizen of Pennsylvania, I urge a reevaluation of this course of action and a reaffirmation of commitments to protect and advance our Second Amendment freedoms. It is essential for leaders to align actions with the values and promises that were made to the citizens they serve.
Please WITHDRAW the petition for "en banc" review in the Lara case.
Please WITHDRAW your petition for "en banc" review in the Lara case.
As a fellow Pennsylvanian and supporter of Gun Owners of America (GOA), I must express my grave concern regarding your recent petition for an "en banc" review in the Lara v. Paris case.
The original ruling in this case was a significant win for young adults who were previously denied their right to carry firearms during states of emergency. However, with the potential for the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals to overturn this decision, there is now a critical threat to the equal rights and freedoms of 18-20 year olds.
It is deeply disheartening to see actions like this being taken, especially considering the previous stances expressed in your candidate survey and the expected protection of under-21 service members' firearm rights. As a Navy veteran, I assumed that you understood that.
Many advocates, like myself, had hoped for a different direction in decisions regarding gun rights, such as restoring concealed carry reciprocity agreements and upholding our state's important firearms preemption laws. This recent move towards an "en banc" review stands in stark contrast to those expectations and promises made.
As a loyal supporter of GOA and a resident of Pennsylvania, I urge you to reconsider this course of action and stay true to the commitments made to protect our Second Amendment rights instead of undermining them and WITHDRAW the petition for "en banc" review in the Lara case.
