Support the SHORT Act and the HPA
As your constituent, I am urging you to cosponsor H.R. 2369 (the SHORT Act) and H.R. 404 (the Hearing Protection Act).
The SHORT Act would remove short-barreled rifles (SBRs), short-barreled shotguns (SBSs), and Any Other Weapons (AOWs) from the unconstitutional NFA. Eliminating these restrictions would protect my right to own and use a stabilizing arm brace on a pistol.
The Hearing Protection Act (HPA) would remove suppressors from the NFA.
Many Americans, including disabled veterans, rely on stabilizing braced pistols for self-defense since they’re much easier to handle. But due to current regulations unconstitutionally set by Biden’s ATF, Americans were forced to jump through hoops, including burdensome registration paperwork, a $200 tax, and restrictions on how they can transport their own property.
The Hearing Protection Act is equally important. Gun owners can face serious hearing damage from loud gunfire. But suppressors serve as an easy fix. They help protect hearing by reducing gunfire noise to a safe level.
These bills will both help restore our Second Amendment rights which have been severely encroached upon by the NFA.
That’s why I urge you to cosponsor both of these bills and support them when they’re offered as an amendment to any must-pass bill.
