Do not betray gun owners
As your constituent, I am furious to hear that the House may very likely betray gun owners like me in the upcoming reconciliation bill.
As currently drafted by the House Ways and Means Committee, the bill is an outright betrayal of gun owners.
It fails to include both the SHORT Act (H.R. 2395) and the full Hearing Protection Act (H.R. 404) – two measures that would gut the unconstitutional National Firearms Act.
Not only that, it doesn’t even remove suppressors from the NFA, it merely lowers the current “transfer” tax on suppressors. And Gun Owners of America tells me the incompetent drafters even left in the $200 “making” tax on suppressors untouched at 26 U.S.C. 5821!
Let me be 100% clear: a bill that only tweaks tax levels while leaving the underlying NFA restrictions in place is not a victory. It’s surrender dressed up as a compromise. And worst of all, it’s being sold to gun owners as a “win.”
I am urging you to ensure that the final reconciliation bill includes both the SHORT Act and the full Hearing Protection Act.
Strike the taxes. Gut the NFA. Protect my rights. Anything less than that is completely UNACCEPTABLE.
Stop the surrender of our 2A rights
