Veto the Amended HB 564 and HB 696
Even though House and Senate Conferees have amended HB 696, make no mistake: HB 696 is still very much a gun confiscation bill which empowers police to seize firearms without a court order.
Furthermore, HB 696 gives courts almost limitless power to exert their will on families who are caring for an elderly relative. HB 696 is very much a gun confiscation bill that is worthy of a gubernatorial veto.
I am also urging you to veto HB 564. By criminalizing concealed carry in schools, HB 564 will disarm law-abiding adults and set up New Hampshire's schools for the types of violent tragedies that have occurred in other states which have enacted gun free or "criminal safe" zones. New Hampshire has not had such a tragedy precisely because we allow law-abiding adults to carry self-defense guns, and those adults have an excellent track record of behaving responsibly.
Gun Owners of America will keep me informed on what you do. Thank you.
