For the second time, Nancy Pelosi has taken a “must-pass” bill and turned it into a Leftist wish list. I’m talking about the anti-gun Violence Against Women Act (H.R. 1585) and CJS Appropriations bill (H.R. 3055). Senate Republicans would be foolish to take either of the bills seriously -- or to negotiate on the basis of either. The Pelosi VAWA bill would allow anyone that a person has ever dated to obtain a secret (ex parte) order to raid their house and seize their guns -- with no due process whatsoever. The Pelosi CJS Appropriations bill would: * Sanction arms sales to Mexican drug cartels; * Approve of government efforts to destroy firearms dealers and manufacturers by drying up credit and banking services; * Open the door to a ban on imported shotguns, curios, and relics; and * Retain the Schumer gun ban, while throwing out all the pro-gun boilerplate which had served as the quid pro quo to Schumer. You cannot take either of these Pelosi bills seriously. Please throw both of them in the wastebasket and start over. And make it a priority to pass concealed carry reciprocity (S. 69).
