71 Reps. cosign Burt pro-gun letter to Trump
Did you see Rep. John Burt's letter to President Trump? If you were one of the 71 State Representatives who co-signed the letter, I want to thank you for taking a stand in defense of the Second Amendment.
If you did not sign the Burt letter, it's not too late to send a similar letter to the White House. You can go to GOA’s website to read Rep. Burt's letter.
Gun Owners of America has told me that gun control legislation -- such as so called "red flag" (no due process) gun confiscation, as well as, bans on sales, gifts and loans of guns between friends and family members -- is being considered by Congress.
That’s why President Trump needs to hear from Second Amendment supporters.
Again, if you co-signed Rep. Burt's letter to the President, please accept my sincere thanks. But if you didn't, then it's not too late to send your own letter opposing gun control to the White House and sign it as an elected official.
Urge Trump to call for concealed carry reciprocity
In response to increasing calls for new federal controls on guns, ammunition and magazines, Rep. John Burt sent a strong letter of opposition to President Trump.
As Rep. Burt wrote, the facts are clear, over the past several decades, over 90% of mass murders happened in gun free zones. The reality is that guns save lives when owned, used and carried by law abiding Americans. The proposals being discussed in Washington will make Americans less safe.
Instead, as Rep. Burt wrote in his letter, President Trump should push Congress to send to his desk without any further delay, H.R. 38 which will allow New Hampshire residents to carry concealed self-defense guns nationwide.
H.R. 38 is of particular importance to Granite Staters because the parking lot of Nashua's Pheasant Lane Mall is in Tyngsboro, Massachusetts. Uninformed gun owners risk arrest if they mistakenly carry a concealed gun into anti-gun Massachusetts.
Congress should also enact H.R. 3200, The Safe Students Act -- which will remove gun free zones and allow law-abiding adults to carry guns in schools so that they can properly protect our children.
Americans, as a people are self-reliant. This is a good thing because in Bowers v. Devito, 686 F. 2d. 616, 618 (7th cir. 1982), the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals expressed, in modern language an 1855 Supreme Court ruling that said the police have no duty to provide protection services to citizens.
Thus, citizens are on their own to defend against violent criminals and firearms are the best tool with which to do so. Americans, by their very nature are self-reliant. Thus, citizens are on their own to defend against violent criminals and firearms are the best tool with which to do so.
If you didn't co-sign Rep. Burt's letter there is still time to send your own, similar letter to the President; he needs to hear from Second Amendment supporters, especially, those who are elected officials. Please consider writing to the President today.
Still time to sign the pro-rights Burt letter...
