2A sanctuaries show hatred of gun control in VA
I’m sure you are aware that over 100 counties, cities and towns have enacted Second Amendment resolutions -- and this figure includes over 90 percent of Virginia’s counties.
Not only that, thousands of Virginians are showing up to these Board of Supervisor’s meetings. They are literally breaking attendance records at these assemblies.
This clearly shows that citizens in this state do NOT want Governor “Blackface” Northam’s gun control agenda.
And Attorney General Mark Herring committed the ultimate political fumble -- he attacked 2A sanctuaries, even though he and Northam have long-supported sanctuaries in the past (for undocumented immigrants).
Gun Owners of America and VCDL published a response to Herring.
I hope you will read their excellent rebuttal, which can be found on the front page of the GOA website.
And I hope that you will oppose every gun control proposal that gets put before you in the 2020 session.

Passing gun control will create a backlash at the polls

Virginia should follow the example of Texas
Recently, a massacre was prevented in a church outside Fort Worth, Texas. And it was stopped because the church has a program of using armed members of the congregation to counter armed violence.
Following the massacre of 26 people in a small Baptist church in Sutherland Springs, Texas amended its laws to allow people with concealed carry licenses to provide armed security in Texas churches.
West Freeway Church of Christ had such a program in place when it was attacked by a transient on December 29. As a result, casualties were limited to one member of the congregation and one member of the security force.
Contrast this to 26 deaths in Sutherland Springs only 2 years before Texas enacted its pro-gun law.
While any death is a tragedy, we can assume that 24 people outside Fort Worth are still alive because Texas honored the Second Amendment, rather than pursuing a politically motivated attack on the Constitution.
Had a variety of statutes and circumstances not disarmed shoppers in El Paso last summer, bloodshed would have been avoided there as well.
The Old Dominion is now at a crossroads. And Virginians are rising up by the thousands to petition their local Board of Supervisors to reject gun control.
As a result, over 90 percent of Virginia’s counties have declared themselves to be 2A sanctuaries. (Gun Owners of America and VCDL have published a 12-page defense of these Second Amendment sanctuaries.)
Protecting the Bill of Rights saves lives. Had Kate Nixon been allowed to carry her firearm in Virginia Beach this past May, carnage might have been avoided there also.
But, rather than trying to save lives, Governor Ralph Northam is literally making “a deal with the devil” in which he is setting the stage for more massacres because he believes it is to his political advantage.
Please do not sacrifice innocent lives for some false sense of political advantage.
Please reject Northam’s pro-massacre agenda and work with Gun Owners of America to protect gun owners’ rights.
Kate Nixon could still be alive today were it not for gun control

Texas shooting shows we need armed citizens, not gun control
