These claims are dangerous fabrications
Gun control zealots are simply LYING about gun control.
Sen. David Marsden went on WMAL radio on January 8 and falsely told listeners that a victim of a “red flag” gun confiscation order could easily get his guns back by just getting a letter from the Mental Health Services Board in Fairfax County.
Well, this is a total lie. Because “getting your guns back” is not as easy as Marsden claims.
Consider that a 2015 study found that the so-called “14-day limit” for getting one’s guns back under Indiana’s red flag law is a total farce. The study found that gun owners are typically deprived from having their guns for more than nine months. (Source: reason.com/2019/08/14/lindsey-grahams-dishonest-defense-of-red-flag-laws.)
And in Florida, while gun owners have the “right” to fight these gun confiscation orders, guess what? According to the Naples News, about 80 percent of these gun owners are forced to fight the legal system with no access to an attorney. (Source: naplesnews.com/in-depth/news/crime/2019/12/12/most-red-flag-law-subjects-collier-lee-had-no-lawyer/4189834002.)
So much for the idea that gun owners can “easily get their guns back,” as Marsden claims.
Gun Owners of America has already started a drive to register gun owners throughout the state and to replace every anti-gun member of the General Assembly, if they vote to legally steal our firearms and support other unconstitutional infringements.
Please oppose red flag gun confiscation orders.

Under Red Flags: gun owners wait 9 months to get guns back – if ever!

Are our rights for sale?
I have one simple question for you -- and every single member of the General Assembly: Will you stand for the rights of Virginians as protected by the state and U.S. Constitutions? Or will you be representing Michael Bloomberg?
The billionaire gun control zealot slithered into Richmond last week to heap attacks on Virginians. “No one’s trying to take away ANYBODY'S [guns],” said Bloomberg.
Of course, one doesn’t need any more proof that this guy is a pathological liar. If “red flag” gun confiscation orders aren’t intended to take away SOMEbody’s guns, what, exactly is the purpose of them?
All over the country, we see how dangerous these laws are. In Maryland, a decent African-American gentleman was gunned down by police when they showed up at his home, early in the morning, to confiscate his firearms.
And in Indiana, a family is now being sued for not obtaining a red flag order against their elderly relative who murdered his tax attorney. So far, the court has not granted a motion for summary judgment.
If cases like this actually become a precedent, everyone in the country will be potentially liable to losing all their firearms if they fail to seize guns from their elderly relatives -- and something goes wrong.
Gun Owners of America has pointed out that the governor is asking for $3.5 million dollars to enforce laws like “red flag” laws -- even though such laws aren’t even on the books.
I hope that you will NOT vote to fund these anti-gun infringements.
And I hope that you will consider that the fact that more than 90 percent of the counties in this state have become 2A sanctuaries shows that gun owners have awakened ... that they are registering to vote ... and that they will “remember in November.”
Do not auction off our rights to the highest bidder
